Cubes and Cube Browser

Note the distinction between cubes and Cube Browser: UCube, DCube, SCube, UCubeFree, etc. are different databases organized as OLAP cubes. The cube defines which variables and data content you get access to. Cube Browser is the program you use to interface the cubes and to analyze data. It defines the functionality when you work with the cubes.

The cubes are regularly improved with the latest data. Cube Browser is also regularly updated with improved functionality. These updates are two independent processes. Users automatically get access to cube updates but need to install new Cube Browser versions in order to take advantage of new functionality (Downloads).

Learning to use Rystad Energy cubes is thus two-folded - learning how to use the generic Cube Browser to interact with the cubes and understanding data and split items (content) of each specific cube.
