North American Shale Quarterly Report

Hart Energy and Rystad Energy have jointly launched the North American Shale Quarterly Report to provide you with consistent and current data on the development of shale gas and tight oil in the United States and Canada. Data can be utilized to improve your investment analysis, market analysis, and peer group benchmarking. Information on the impact of this pivotal development on the global upstream industry is also analyzed.

The North American Shale Quarterly Report includes valuation maps with well overlays, company-specific data, including acreage and reserves, production forecasts of plays up to 2020 as well as infrastructure and economics of plays. Plays covered are Barnett, Marcellus, Haynesville and Bossier, Woodford, Fayetteville, Bakken/Three Forks, Eagle Ford, Granite Wash, Niobrara, Horn River, and Montney.
The consistency of data provided in the North American Shale Quarterly Report is a result of systematic research. Subsurface characteristics of each play are combined with empirical well data provided by state authorities. They are further supplemented with forward-looking information obtained from more than 100 E&P companies.
Based on this research, we have developed an exhaustive economic model of more than 400 acreage positions and more than 5,000 unconventional new wells drilled and completed per year. The output of this model, in terms of production profiles and expense levels, has been calibrated to match various constraints, including gas demand scenarios, price supply curves, rig activity, hydraulic fracturing capacity, infrastructure capacity, cash availability, and transaction values. Such a complete model allows for a unique scrutiny of the companies’ communication to the markets, specifically in regards to average well performance, learning curves, guidance on future activity levels, etc.
Rystad Energy's North American Shale Economic Model is an integrated part of our larger global upstream model UCube, which is the source of all forecasts provided in the North American Shale Quarterly Report. The report is sold by Hart Energy electronically and on print. For more information about the North American Shale Quarterly Report please visit the NASQ Homepage.
